What we’ll explore
This workshop brings together the pillars that support sustainable movement:
Mobility & joint health (hips, ankles, spine — the foundations)
Strength basics to support real-life movement
Breathwork for stability, nervous system support, and presence
Mindset & body awareness (moving with intention, not punishment)
Nutrition & hydration essentials for energy, recovery, and resilience
You’ll leave with simple tools you can actually use — whether you’re a runner, hiker, gym-goer, or simply someone who wants to move with more ease.
-
Each hike lasts approximately 3 hours, including a pause for meditation, reflection, and tea.
-
Each month will feature a different Dorset location. Full details including meet-up point, parking, and terrain will be shared after registration.
Be assured that every hike will be easy to moderate. Suitable for all activity levels.
-
Water
A flask with your favourite tea
A snack or light lunch
Weather-appropriate clothing (layers, waterproofs if needed)
Sturdy walking shoes or boots
Something for creative reflection: a small journal, camera, sketchbook, or anything else that calls to you
Optional: a sit mat or small blanket for meditation stops
-
Yes. While the hikes are ~3.5 hours long, the pace is gentle, with regular pauses and supportive guidance throughout. A basic level of fitness and comfort walking on uneven ground is helpful.
-
Not at all. Reflection can take many forms – from silent observation to doodles in a notebook. There’s no pressure to create or share anything unless you feel inspired.
-
After signing up, you’ll receive a link to our private Heylo group where you can meet fellow walkers, ask questions, and stay connected between hikes.
-
The Reflection Series is free to attend, but registration is essential as places are limited to keep the experience spacious and supportive.
If you feel called, you're warmly encouraged to make a donation to The Pier Journal, our creative partner for this series. Your support helps them continue their beautiful work in publishing, storytelling, and nurturing local voices.

We kindly encourage you to leave a small donation to Pier Journal who are supporting the Walking through Winter Series.

Meet your host
Hi, I'm Tamara - The MindFuelBody Coach
I’m an accredited Hypnotherapist, Nutritionist, and UESCA-certified Ultra Run Coach with over seven years of experience supporting individuals on their journey to holistic well-being. I'm also currently training to become a qualified Mountain Leader, deepening my connection with the outdoors and expanding the way I guide others through wild landscapes — both inner and outer.
While I’ve spent years as a passionate plant-based ultra trail runner, my approach has since evolved to honour what feels most aligned and nourishing in each season of life. What remains at the heart of everything I do is a deep respect for the mind-body connection, and the power of nature as a space for healing, transformation, and coming home to ourselves.
My own path has been shaped by the grounding rhythm of trail running, the wisdom of the elements, and the inner shifts that hypnotherapy and mindful practices offer. Working and moving with earth, air, fire, and water continues to guide me toward greater resilience, clarity, and joy.
Through my work, I aim to help others reconnect with their inner alchemist – that part of us that knows how to transform, adapt, and rise – by weaving movement, mindset, and nature into a powerful support system for personal growth.
Lots of love,
Tamara
Pier Journal
'Pier Journal was founded in 2022 to celebrate creativity and culture in the Bournemouth area. It has since expanded to cover the whole of Dorset, shining a spotlight on the people, places and events that make this county such a great place to live, work and play. At its heart is a stunning printed journal created and distributed between 2 and 4 times a year for free to help people love where they live. Outside of this, the volunteer team behind Pier put on events in collaboration with partners such as Tamara to bring the community together - from gigs and exhibitions to quizzes and markets, and now this walking series. Pier helps local freelancers, creatives and businesses connect, creating opportunities and giving people a reason to make Dorset their forever home. Find out more at pierjournal.co.uk
