A day in my life (part 2)
Part 2 of my series “A day in my life” gives insights in my daily routine on a day on a weekend. Right now it’s winter time and I’m in off-season which means that this routine differs from the one when I’m training for an event. Especially the volume of my training is reduced at the moment.
Here’s a rundown of my typical routine on a weekend at the moment (winter time and off-season).
4:45 AM: Wake up (naturally without an alarm) and meditate
5:00 - 5:30 AM: Get up, get dressed for the training session and have a pre-workout breakfast
5:30 - 8:20 AM: Training session
7:50 - 8:15 AM: Shower and post-workout breakfast
8:15 - 10:00 AM: Journaling, reading, working on my Life in a Run blog and my coaching business MindFuelBody
10 AM - 12:00 PM: Some cross-training; i.e. bouldering, aerial yoga, swimming, walking, swimming
12:00 - 1:00 PM: Cooking and lunchtime while listening to a podcast
1:00 - 3:00 PM: Relaxing time: having a nap, doing chore, dance at home, read, a spontaneous cold sea dip…whatever I feel like really
3:00 - 5:00 PM: Chore again (yes, I prefer to split chore into smaller junks), talking to friends, relax, go for a walk, journaling
5:00 - 6:45 PM: Active wind-down time (part 1): watching documentaries Netflix or YouTube, reading, listening to music or podcasts, working on my Life in a Run blog and my coaching business MindFuelBody
6:45 - 7:30 PM: Cooking and dinner time
7:30 - 9:00 PM: Wind-down time (part 2): Journaling, watching Netflix, listening to podcasts, reading
9:00 - 9:30 PM: Bed time (sleeping) while listening to a guided meditation
If you have read part 1 of my weekday routine where I also share some of my hacks with you which help me to keep my routine, you’ll notice that my weekend routine is not much different, except that I train longer and twice a day and spend more time relaxing, having a nap and reading instead of working and sitting in front of a laptop for a long stretch.
