Welcome to my blog
You might ask yourself why I called my blog “Life in a Run”. It has mainly two reasons.
When I go on trail runs, especially long distances, it feels like I’m experiencing my whole life in one run. So many memories, questions, fears, hopes and dreams from my early childhood, teenage years up until the present moment come to mind. The incredible thing about it is though that it has a therapeutic effect on me. And that leads me to reason number two…
While all these thoughts and emotions arise in me, running allows me to acknowledge and face them without judgement or fear. I am healing from the inside and this brings me more to life. It allows me to see things from a different perspective and to understand and appreciate what’s truly important to me in life.
This blog is not a training log nor a training guide for endurance. My intention with this blog is to share some of my experiences of trail running, how I got into it and how I found my purpose. All accompanied with some images of the picturesque landscapes I get to run on.
Best case scenario would be that my story will spark something within you. That inner voice telling you to go out of your comfort zone, face your fears and pursue your purpose - despite what others say. Believe me when I tell you: I wouldn’t be the person I am now if I had listened and believed what my doctor or others said. Deep inside you know that there’s a confidence, a knowing what you want to do. Sometimes all it takes is someone or something that gives you that spark that ignites the fire.
One thing I’ve learned is: Everything you’ve ever wanted sits on the other side of fear. And it’s 100% worth it to work hard for it and pursue your dreams.
